  • Vivid London (UK), a branding and marketing company, has opened a new office in Cologne, Germany. The office will service a German chain of retail outlets. Two new jobs have been created.
  • Apple Inc. (USA), designing, manufacturing and marketing personal computers and software, has opened a store in Frankfurt, Germany. Apple already owns stores in Munich and Hamburg.
  • AKQA (USA), an independent web design and interactive marketing agency, is set to open an office in Berlin, Germany. The office will open in March 2010, and be the seventh worldwide.
  • Applied Nanotech Holdings (USA), which conducts research on carbon nanotubes, has announced the opening of a new sales office in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany.
  • Charles Voegele (Switzerland), a clothing retailer, has opened a store in Steinfurt, Germany. The new store will provide work for 36 people.

  • Gamma Global (UK), a distributor of IT hardware products, plans to open sales offices in three more countries: in Germany, in the Netherlands and in the United Arab Emirates. It already disposes of four overseas offices.
  • Manuli Stretch (Italy), one of the world’s largest manufacturers of stretch film, has expanded its plant in the Dow Value Park in Schkopau, Germany. The company is to invest € 21m until 2012 for two new facilities and a new production building measuring 4,000 sq m. The number of staff will be increased to 144 people.
  • Philip Morris GmbH, the German arm of Philip Morris International (USA), is to lease approx. 11,000 sq m of space for its new headquarters in a “green building” in Gräfelfing, Germany. The building will be completed by autumn 2011.
  • Greentech (France) has opened a subsidiary, Greentech GmbH, based in Munich in order to be closer to its clients in Germany and Switzerland.
  • Bahcesehir University (Turkey) is set to open a contact office in Berlin, Germany, in February 2010. The office will assist the company in its joint programs with universities and educational institutions in Europe.

  • MTN Satellite Communications, part of Seamobile Enterprises (USA), has expanded its European presence with the opening of a new sales and engineering support office in Hamburg, Germany. The company is also present in the UK and Greece.
  • Bazaarvoice (USA), a social commerce technology company, has opened an office in Düsseldorf, Germany, as part of its plans to double the size of its international business in the next 12 months. The company already has offices in the UK, France and Singapore.
  • Castro Model (Israel), a fashion chain, is to open a store in Leverkusen, Germany, in February 2010. The 400 sq m store will be situated in the City Hall Gallery shopping center. So far the company is operating 7 stores in Germany.
  • InnoCentive (USA), which works with corporations and government organizations to solve complex problems, has announced the opening of a new office in Munich, Germany, to support European clients and to drive new business opportunities.

  • Ermenegildo Zegna (Italy), a menswear designer, plans to open a store in Munich, Germany, as part of plans to open 20 new stores in 2010.
  • Roche Group (Switzerland) is to invest $181.51m in its production sites in Kaiseraugst, Switzerland, and Mannheim, Germany, to develop a device that allows breast cancer patients to administer the drug Hercepetin themselves.
  • Mitac (Taiwan) is investing in Germany in the Business Machines & Equipment sector. Getac, a provider of rugged mobile computing solutions, is to open a sales office in Düsseldorf, Germany, in the second quarter of 2010.
  • Interpublic Group (USA) is investing in Germany. In this context Reprise Media, a leading search engine marketer, has announced the opening of a new office in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • AKQYA (USA), an independent web design and interactive marketing agency, is set to open an office in Berlin, Germany, in March 2010. The office will be its 7th office worldwide.

  • Pelletron (USA), which provides dedusting solutions to manufacturers, has established a company in Vogt, Germany. Its European branch Pelletroneurope will finally dispose of an office building as well as assembling and storage facilities.
  • Desigual (Spain), a fashion retailer, is to invest 80 mio Euro to open 80 stores in 2010. Around 40 of these stores will be located in Germany and France.
  • Integral Fusion (India), a business and technology services provider, has opened an office in Düsseldorf, Germany, to take on responsibility for strategic business development in organizations of the European Union and client servicing.
  • Ipsos (France), the market research company, has signed a lease to let 2,400 sq m of office at Lindley Carrée in Hamburg, Germany. Hamburg offices will be relocated to the new building in November 2010.
  • Axpo (Switzerland) is investing in a Financial Services project. The energy company Elektrizitäts-Gesellschaft Laufenburg (EGL) has opened an office in Duesseldorf, Germany. EGL wishes to step up its activities in the area of electricity and natural gas.

  • White & Case (USA), a New York-based law firm, has established an insolvency group at its office in Berlin, Germany, creating 50 jobs.
  • ZRG (USA), the global executive search and talent management firm, has opened an office in Frankfurt, Germany, to better support its clients in Europe. The company expects additional office openings in Europe over the next 12 to 24 months.
  • Stampin’ Up! (USA), which creates and produces decorative stamp sets and accessories for greeting cards etc., has opened its European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. The company regards Frankfurt’s central location as ideal to reach its European customers.
  • Fuerst Developments (Austria), which designs, implements and markets high-class properties, is to open an office in Stuttgart, Germany, in February 2010 in order to manage the urban redevelopment in Killesberg, a quarter of Stuttgart.
  • MTN Satellite Communications, a global provider of maritime VSAT communications and a part of Seamobile Enterprises (USA), has expanded its European presence with the opening of a new sales and engineering support office in Hamburg, Germany.
